This is what we do. This is how we love, how we love all whom we say are our loved ones. We hold them so close that they can not go. We restrain them from being whom they wish to be. We give them not their freedom. We say, "You must stay here and be with me. You must do as I please. Your behavior must be pleasing to me." And thus we strangle them as we wrangle them. And as when they finally break free they leave. This is not "true love." This is self serving love, which is a very human thing.
But there is another love which is higher above any of our own human imaginings. This is Divine Love, which is God's Love. This is the only love which is truly unconditional.
God's love is not confining. It depends on nothing. No behavior of ours wins God's favor. God does not bind us to his will or his ways. Instead he has given us each our own free will to choose our own life, by our own imaginings. Al this being said, God wishes we would choose Him. As our faithful living parent He watches over patiently awaiting the day that we each will have had enough of our own ways.
You see we are imperfect beings as we are born into humanity. We try to do good but miss the mark continually. We error. We judge wrongly. We fail to see the beauty and goodness life holds for us, each of us. And thus we hate and separate.
The only way to unity is through God. Through becoming the love God is. Being so filled with the substance of God that God's thoughts and ways become our thoughts and ways. We do this, we become this, we transform into this love, by desiring this love above everything else there is.
This is what God desires for us , this is how we choose Him. We choose His love as our love. And as we do we rise above sense conciousness. We do as Jesus did. We love, we love all, unconditionly. And thus as we do we set ourselves free.
This is how God loves, loves us. We does not cage us in making us, forcing us to believe in him. He pens none in. He gives us free reign to experience it all, all the pleasure, all the pain. He stands by patiently knowing all the while that only He, His most sacred Heart holds the joy our hearts desire. This joy is the lasting peace. The peace that man walking alone with no thought of God could ever imagine could be.
This is the peace beyond understanding and yet it can be understood when man becomes so God conscious, so one with His Heavenly Father. Do not begin to think that this love is in any way confining. This is the love that sets one free. This is why Jesus came. He came to live a life that directed us to this divine way of being. He found the way to this eternal peace. His joy was complete. He said "Follow Me."
